Before I Fall

Before I Fall was one of my favorite books in high school.
I read it junior year while I was supposed to be listening to Mr. Debink lecture on physics. I cared so much more about what the book taught me, and I don't regret the measly B I received in class. I did then and will always favor the life lessons I gleaned from this book.

I'm not going to get into the nitty gritty too deeply, and promise not to leak any spoilers (because trust me, you NEED to go watch this with all the people you care about).

That being said, I feel compelled to write about the movie. It was a great reminder that our everyday actions matter so much more than we often realize. Our priorities lie in what we do with our time, and we simply can't forget how finite that resource is. The movie makes you want to hug your mom, send an apology to anyone you've hurt, and spend your days doing shit that actually does good for others. It's so easy to get caught up in the LOOK AT ME aspect of social media (just refer to the photo above) but focusing on the good it can bring to others is so much more conducive to a happy life.
The good news is the way we utilize our social media platforms is entirely up to our discretion. We can incorporate little reminders in our lives to help us keep it a priority, such as Mantraband products, a journal with our goals, or even ethical clothing that keeps this reminder close to us. The cardigan in the photo above has a patch on the sleeve which reads "kindness", "love", and "gratitude".

I strive to better embody all 3 of those, and my cup is even fuller after seeing a movie which so firmly stands for the same.

Happy Sunday everyone <3

Love,
Ashley

Behind the dainty days is a whole lot of planning. And coffee.
Here is a look at both, and everything between.
