You probably wouldn't know it, but I love a good skirt. I rarely wear them because I HATE high maintenance clothing items, but this skirt is a lovely exception! This little striped number stays put all day so I absolutely love her! In order to dress down the pencil shape of the skirt, I paired this oversize maroon sweater over top! The best part about this sweater? She can be worn with shorts and jeans just as easily as over a skirt or a dress! This is why I have all three colors Dottie carried...oops. Also this color along with the olive is on sale at Dottie right now! I sized up to medium for extra coziness, and I am in love. They also perfectly pair with bralettes for an off the shoulder look! When I was out of time and absolutely had to get my butt out the door this morning, I knew these would be the easiest throw on to complement my outfit! I think they add a boy-ish flair to the feminine skirt. I hope you all are having a great Thursday!

The sun has finally shown her face. Winter sun simply doesn't have the same effect on me...and I'm so glad to finally feel the summer version again! This past weekend was beautiful and I was lucky enough to enjoy it out by the lake for a blog! I broke out these darling ruffle shorts despite the fact that my legs would blind anyone with their paleness...sorry in advance to whoever sees them in this state. Unfortunately I'm a snowball alllllll year round. Because the shorts are printed, I wanted to keep my top solid! This tangerine tank is an old Nordstrom Rack buy, and I love the fit of it! I love the clashing prints within one article of clothing, and I definitely don't have anything else like these in my wardrobe. Because both blue AND black are in the pattern, you could wear just about any color top with these! Nothing says *almost* summer like an espadrille wedge, so of course I broke these Steve Maddens out from last year! The low wedge heel makes them perfect for all day wear.
Have y'all been enjoying the warm front we're finally experiencing? Let me know in the comments, and thanks so much for reading! Love, Ashley It may not be warm enough to ditch my jackets quite yet, but I got to wear sandals today!!! Small victories matter. I paired my DIY'd knee slit skinnies (few years old, from Aero) with these camel gladiator sandals from TJ Maxx! My cream lace peplum top is from Dottie, and I'm absolutely obsessed with it! I love how lace and leather somehow clash with AND complement each other, especially the textured and detailed lace in this top! My cropped leather jacket is an old Lauren Conrad for Kohl's buy, and I don't think I'll ever get rid of her! I added this dainty floral ring to my little collection just this past weekend, and I couldn't be more thrilled with it! I found it at Von's this past weekend in Lafayette, and for a whopping $11 I couldn't pass it up. My burgundy floppy hat is from Target...I will never be able to say no
to a floppy hat! They're simply too fun to wear. Did you get to enjoy this beautiful sunny day like I did? It looks like the weather should only get better from here, YAYYYY!!! Happy Tuesday :) Love, Ashley Sometimes you just gotta penguin yourself in a jacket and take pics.
I've acquired a few of these ruffle bottom tanks over the past few years, and I love them so so much. This one is an old Dottie tank, and I love the length of these pieces together! The little bit of lace at the bottom sweetly complements the blush color of the sweater; I just love when outfits fall together this easily. I can assure you it isn't often! My camel oxfords are Sperry, and I don't wear them as often as I would like to simply because I'm never really sure how to style them! I think they have a schoolgirl/nerdy look about them and I love that! I paired my thrifted cropped jacket to complete the look, despite it being weather inappropriate today...sigh. One day we'll get warm weather back for a while! Until then I'll keep on loving my Winter picks sprinkled with Spring!
Thanks for reading!! Love, Ashley To be completely honest, I'm 99.9% sure that plaid has no place in a Spring wardrobe...until right now. And that's mainly because I am still so obsessed with this jacket that I'll wear it into Summer if I have my way. Though my jacket isn't currently available at Dottie, my tunic still is! I've already blogged both other colors of this sweatshirt...and I'm not even embarrassed. I love it so much that I actually bought every single color available in it. No regrets here, I will wear these foreverrrrrrr. I paired this laid back outfit with my rust fringe TOMS booties to dress it up a bit. I love the unkempt way the frayed jeans look with the booties!
One day I'll actually get to enjoy a true Spring wardrobe. For now, I'll enjoy my warmer clothes staving off some April frostbite. If you haven't entered my giveaway on Instagram, be sure to do so by Friday! I will talk to you soon, friends. Love, Ashley |
