ME!

My pointed toe flats are from Rothy's, and are the perfect pair for a Saturday of errands! If you haven't checked them out yet, you can find them at rothys.com (and use code AMcmullen20 for a discount!). My full review for them has been filmed and is being edited now, but believe me, they are worth checking out!!!

Has January kicked you in the pants or is that just me?
Anyone else seeing a pattern of me getting kicked in the pants?

Luckily I am in love with this new top from my friend Becca, you can shop her Shop Stevie store here! I have been stepping up my turtleneck game this year, and am officially a Steve Jobs style convert. I love the lightweight sweater in a darker hue, and can definitely see myself wearing this a lot into spring!
Picture
I've never been a fan of red and green between January and November, but it just felt right to pair these dark olive flats with the burgundy top! I really like how it turned out, and the pointed toe flats bring a very stylish feel to a simple outfit pairing.

I always front-tuck my shirts, and my dad always comments how weird it looks. But being so short I feel like it gives me a little shape, so that people can at least see about where my hips are (not that they're easily missed regardless). Are there any weird go-to styling tricks you usually employ? I wanna know so that I can steal them too!

I hope your weekend has been every bit as cool as you are!!

Love,
Ashley

(body)Suit Up

It's not quite time yet for body suits in Indiana, at least not to be worn to their full potential anyway.

But I couldn't help scooping this one up. Maude KILLED it with this scoop back bodysuit in my fav (lack of) color, which is amazing because I'll be able to pair it with anything! I have so many high waisted pants that I have trouble styling because usually all of my tops are too long. Bodysuits are the perfect solution!
Picture
Because it is still so frigid, I paired this fuzzy cardi from DCB over it. I've been styling this fuzzy cardi with a lottttt lately. Because fuzz, obviously.
My high waisted jeans are from Top Shop, and are a few years old but the "mom jean" silhouette is still available!

Have you had a good weekend? The nice weather has me jonesing for Spring, but until it's here I'll just hide my warm weather clothes under the cold weather clothes :)

Blue Monday

Apparently today is the most depressing day of the year.

I figured I could just post a bright, clean combo and maybe it would all be okay :)
Picture
To say I'm "obsessed" with this cardigan from Shop Maude would be an understatement.
It has the prettiest gold threads woven in the cream knit, and instantly dresses up an outfit. It is also very warm which has let me skip a coat a few days this past week!

Have you found your Monday to be especially blue?
Aren't all Mondays tinged with the slightest blue hue?

I hope yours was red or green or yellow or whatever color makes you happiest :)

Love,
Ashley

Ice Blues

Don't get me wrong,

I'm a Midwesterner through and through, but even I get tired of the dreary, rain-induced depression that is the outside.

For this reason, I like to wear shorts in the winter.

I'm really not a fan of shorts in the summer, as I'm usually chilly in the air conditioning so I'd rather wear pants. In winter, I'm already freezing so I may as well just deal.

The trick to pulling off shorts with tights is to combine a solid with a pattern!
For example, these solid black shorts with polka dot tights. If I had patterned shorts on, I'd do solid tights! My favorite tights are Vera Wang (like these above) and can be found at Kohl's! These are over 5 years old, but they still sell that brand and I can't recommend them enough!
Picture
Another trick for wearing shorts in the colder months is to pair with a shorter sweater rather than a loose, oversized one. It borders "sloppy" (at least on me) if it's not tucked in/short enough. This light grey Banana Republic sweater was a Goodwill gem!

Since I've been working on upping my hair game recently, I've made a real effort to put some type of headband/braid/effort into my hair each day. Since I didn't have a ton of time this morning, I rolled my hair into this stunning Headbands of Hope number and pinned a fishtail over it! I love the ease and versatility of this, and can't wait to see what else I come up with to spice this style up a bit.
Picture
To complete the look I wore my "Grey Birdseye" flats from Rothy's! The grey color is created from tiny sections of white and black in a pattern which ends up looking solid from far away! I am so impressed by the comfort these shoes provide, and can officially say they got me through an entire work day without a single issue. For a flat, that speaks volumes.

Don't forget to use code "AMcmullen20" for $20 any Rothy's order!

How are you handling the ice?

#undermatters with BootayBag!

Bootaybag had a brilliant idea, let me tell you.

I can't tell you the last time I went shopping for underwear, for a multitude of reasons:
-no time
-no inclination
-awko taco

To sign up for a service like Bootaybag is my ideal way of attaining these unmentionables, as I can avoid the human factor and have them delivered right to me!
Picture

Even better than benefitting ME, is that this service benefits those in need! They choose a different cause to contribute to each month, and that really makes this service stand above the rest! The tag included on the garments let you know which foundation a portion of the proceeds will go to.

Now that you know what it is and why I've partnered with them, LET"S OPEN IT!!!
Picture

I managed to wait almost an entire week to rip this package open! THAT'S how much I love you reading frands.

p.s. Safe to say I was overly excited. See below for reference.
Picture
Anyone else find it incredibly satisfying to open packages, regardless of what's inside? A monthly promise of mail opening is a huge plus for me {seriously}.

Sometimes I'm terrified with where the world has led us (or where we have led the world?), but then things like underwear can be both delivered AND chosen for you, and I feel like we may have had some brilliant ideas along the way. This is where I leave you in this little review of mine, but I will tell you these unmentionables are DEFINITELY mentionable :)

HAPPY WEEKEND!!
